Payment will not save if it did not clear
If a payment does not go through the processor, that it will not save in the database. I have found a few times that it saved, but did not go though due to an error or a decline. Can be a loss if not caught

This is already a feature of Spectra / myStratus.

If you mean to not allow a credit card payment to be saved unless it has been authorized, you can set up Spectra / myStratus to do just that:
1. Go to Maintenance / General / Data Entry Validation
2. Scroll to Payment - Credit Card Auth Code
3. Select the Option - RequiredYou may need to close / reopen Spectra / myStratus for that setting to take affect (on all computers).
