When you create in invoice, have software notify you at that time if a deposit can be applied.
Many times I forget a client has a deposit, and I send the invoice (collecting the entire amount), then when I enter the full payment in Spectra, I am notified that a deposit is available...I often have to refund an amount equal to the deposit.

I think this should be done at the same time as updating IBY to let a client know there's a deposit at the cart stage. Common denominator is just sooner signaling of deposits to make sure they get applied. IBY client facing, this one user. Both critical.
