Update Render Profile -> General -> Default Setup option titles to put Session in front of high/low res to make clear Session/Ordered/Custom
After reading through the KB article several times and wrestling with the idea of how to automate digital fulfillment, it occurred to me that part of my confusion has to do with the wording in Render Profile -> General -> Default Setup: only Low/High-Res Session Images talks about digital delivery, yet neither are the correct option if you want to digitally deliver ordered images.
It took me a minute, but then I made the connection between 1) how you can fulfill digital images for an entire session via a session option or only for ordered images via a product option, and 2) how render profiles can address session images or ordered images. Once I made that connection, it was obvious to me the Render Profiles choices were really divided by Session/Ordered/Custom. The way it's currently worded - with Session second to High/Low, with Session being the only option addressing digital delivery, and Ordered images for Print (the correct choice for automating digital delivery) specifically referencing "Print" but saying nothing about digital delivery - leads the KB reader in the wrong direction. I made a previous suggestion about adding language for Digital Delivery to the "Ordered Images for Print." I think if you simply put "Session" first in Default Setup (i.e. "Session Low/High-Res Images) it will make it clearer this is only about digital delivery at a Session level. Then it would read Session/Ordered/Custom. I think updating the KB article with language about Session digital fulfillment vs. Ordered digital fulfillment to make the distinction absolutely clear would really help.
Updating because I'm now trying to find Selection Options with Image Group and/or Image rating per the Session Image Presets in KB, and they are only accessible if you make a Custom Profile. When I did that, I noticed that the Custom Profile option itself makes the distinction I'm drawing out between Session and Order. So the concept distinction is there, but it's currently nested inside of an option at the bottom of the list. It confirmed my analysis of Session v. Ordered as governing principle (as I wrote this, I still was thinking, "am I just missing something, though"?). I am just advocating to say something like "pick whether you want to render Session Images, Ordered Images, or a Custom setup of one or the other" at top of the KB section and then make it read Session, Ordered, and Custom from top to bottom to make it clear.
