Make Associated Session Promotions / Codes Mergeable in Form Emails
I've written about Session Promotions being connected to Price List Promotions (https://studioplus.uservoice.com/forums/560392-studioplus-product-suggestions/suggestions/48788831-tie-session-promotions-together-with-price-list-pr and also https://studioplus.uservoice.com/forums/560392-studioplus-product-suggestions/suggestions/34606384-ability-to-add-discounts-to-orders-in-iby), and I would add really Marketing plans should be considered in the mix as well. But where the rubber hits the road is with actual interactions with clients, and I think there's a big hole in Form Letters and HTML Emails: you can't merge in any Promo Codes relevant to a Session Promotion (because they're not connected to actual codes on price lists in spite of sharing the exact same name). But it would be really helpful in sales emails if I could have something in the body of the email that said something like, Hey, Joe, Your session is part of our [Session Promotion]... use [Relevant Promotion Code] at checkout to receive [Promo Type = % Discount -> Discount % Integer] on your order through [Promotion Code Expiration Date]. As it currently stands, all of that data is already unified in the database if we're talking Session Promotions and their associated Codes (which I know are not tied to back end Price List Promo Codes but I think should be), yet the only way for me to write a sales email like this is to ~hard code it as a one-off. This is a good example where Stratus has sooooo much value it can capture using existing functions that just need some extra inflection to push them over the goal line of extraordinary end-use functionality for photographers.
I thought I'd added to my first post about Promo Codes that I think it could stand to be an actual Session Data field on par with even Session Number, but I must have not written that in a suggestion once I realized Session Promotions had Codes. But since I belatedly realized Session Promo Codes are just used for reporting, not actually applying a discount, I probably just forgot to circle back to say I think that it'd be really useful to be able to associate a useable Promo Code with a Session: you could reference as a merge field and also just pre-apply it online to save people screwing it up and asking customer service (me) to do it for them. I'm currently using a Custom Session Value to hold the promo code as a workaround, but that can't be pre-applied nor does it help with tracking using the built-in Session Promotions feature, nor does it tie in with a Marketing Plan in any way. But if you're reading this, that's how I'm working around it now and auotmating my emails.
